Viewers left mortified by Netflix’s ‘most explicit movie ever’ with ‘absolutely disgusting’ scenes

A Netflix movie, dubbed the streaming service’s “most explicit movie ever,” has just landed. However, some argue it includes some “disgusting” scenes.

Viewers around the world are reacting strongly after a film was added to Netflix. The film in question is Y Tu Mamá También. A Mexican movie released in 2001 has been critically acclaimed. Now, you can watch it on Netflix.

The story follows teenage friends Tenoch and Julio, who set off on a road trip after finishing high school, accompanied by an older woman, Luisa. What begins as a carefree adventure quickly turns into something much deeper.

Themes include complicated relationships and, safe to say, boundary-pushing experiences. Not least because of the explicit content.

The audience has been very divided as the graphic content includes threesomes and sexual discovery scenes. On social media, per TVF, many viewers didn’t hold back, with one saying it was an “absolutely disgusting movie.”

“Wtf is this doing on Netflix. I can’t imagine what it would do to the sensibilities of unsuspecting families opening it for a mindless Sunday viewing,” a second person wrote.

A third explained, “Just watched Y Tu Mama Tambien for the first time. Expected it to be the horniest movie I’d ever seen and it was somehow even more horny than that.”

However, while many argue it’s too explicit for Netflix, others say it’s great.

One viewer even called it a masterpiece, saying, “Watched y tu mamá también last night, God that was so incredible so good,” a second added.

A third wrote, “Can’t believe I’ve only just watched Y tu mamá también. A masterpiece!”

When Y Tu Mama También was released, reactions, just like those when Netflix added it to its catalog, were massive. It sparked a major debate and received a strict age rating for its explicit content.

However, director Alfonso Cuarón defended the movie. He explained that explicit scenes are important for a particular reason.

“We wanted the sex scenes to get a point across about these characters and about the social elements we were playing with, like class and the conceptions of masculinity that these characters have,” Cuarón said, per The New York Times.

“We wanted the sex scenes to get a point across about these characters and about the social elements we were playing with, like class and the conceptions of masculinity that these characters have.”

His brother, Carlos, who helped with the script to the movie, added: “That portrait of adolescence with its failures and virtues, the narrator who doesn’t narrate but contextualizes things and helped us avoid explanatory scenes, the enormous chemistry between Diego and Gael, and the counterpoint that Maribel provided were some of the many factors.”

He concluded, “None of us who made it thought it would have such success. When we wrote the screenplay, we didn’t know who would dare make it.”

Still, despite the strong reactions, the film has been widely praised by critics and holds high ratings. On IMDB, it’s been rated 7,7 ut of 10, and it has a 90% rating.

While it might have stirred up strong emotions and mixed reactions, it’s a reminder that even controversial films can become major successes. And despite the film being released in 2021, Y Tu Mama También continues to spark reactions.

Can a movie involve this much explicit content and still be streaming on Netflix? Please share your thoughts in the comment section.

More people are coming out as Aegosexual – here’s what it means

As discussions around sexuality become more layered, so does the vocabulary used to describe them. One term now drawing attention is aegosexual, an “identity-less” experience that’s defined by “disconnection.” With gender and sexuality now part of everyday conversation, it’s no surprise that a growing number of new labels are finding their way into the mainstream. Aegosexuality, part of the asexual spectrum, describes people who experience arousal or desire without wanting to engage in sexual activity. At its core, the identity centers on a disconnect between experiencing attraction and wanting to personally act on it. ‘Disconnection’ The concept was first introduced in 2012 by Canadian psychologist and sexologist Anthony Bogaert, who originally referred to it as “autochorissexualism.” Bogaert described the experience as an “identity-less sexuality,” that’s “characterized by a disconnection between their sense of self and a sexual object or target.” In practical terms, someone wh...

Common back-pain drug may be linked to higher dementia risk, large study finds

A pain medication that millions of Americans rely on for chronic back pain may come with a hidden risk: a significantly higher chance of developing dementia or other cognitive problems, according to a major new study. Compared 26,000 adults Researchers from Case Western Reserve University and several partner institutions analyzed medical records from 68 health systems across the U.S., comparing 26,414 adults prescribed gabapentin for persistent low-back pain with a matched group who had similar pain — but didn’t take the drug. Their finding was sobering: Adults who received six or more gabapentin prescriptions were 29% more likely to be diagnosed with dementia and 85% more likely to develop mild cognitive impairment (MCI) within 10 years. The risk wasn’t limited to older adults. In fact, it was younger Americans who saw the most dramatic increases. Younger adults saw shocking risk increases For people normally considered decades away from dementia: Ages 35–49 taking gabapentin ha...
