Rob Reiner’s daughter’s chilling comment to police after actor and wife found dead at home

More horrifying details are emerging in light of the news that Hollywood filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife were found dead in their Brentwood, Los Angeles home at the weekend.

Reports detail how the couple were found on Sunday, December 14 inside their abode in Brentwood, California. According to The Mirror, authorities described the scene as a “horror double murder” involving what appeared to be stab wounds. The Hollywood director and his wife were said to have been discovered dead in their home by their daughter, Romy.

New information published by TMZ now claims that the couple were killed by a family member during a heated argument inside their home.

At the time of writing, it’s unclear what led to the argument in question, though TMZ say Romy told police that a family member had killed them. The couple’s son, Nick, is currently being questioned in connection with the murders.

Citing sources, TMZ said that Romy made a chilling comment to police about the aforementioned family member when they arrived, telling them they “should be a suspect” because they’re “dangerous.”

Meanwhile, one source familiar with the case, who the LA Times say was not authorized to speak publicly, said there were no signs of forced entry at the home. The source also indicated that the victims had injuries consistent with stab wounds.

At a news conference late Sunday, LAPD Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton shared limited details, saying the investigation was still in its early stages. Detectives were in the process of obtaining a search warrant before conducting a “thorough” examination of the property.

“At this time, the Los Angeles Police Department is not seeking anyone as a suspect or as a person of interest … and we will not be doing that until we conduct our investigation and move forward,” Hamilton said.

He added that several family members would be interviewed but emphasized that “no one has been detained; no one is being questioned as a suspect.”

“We’re going to try to speak to every family member that we can to get to the facts of this investigation,” he said.

Rob, 78, and Michele, 68, were married since 1989 and lived in an upscale Brentwood neighborhood known for its gated properties and tall hedges. According to The New York Post, their home was decorated for the holidays on Sunday.

Rob — the son of iconic comedian Carl Reiner — began his career in show business as a comedy writer in the 1960s. He worked as Steve Martin’s writing partner on the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour in 1968 and ’69.

Reiner starred as Michael Stivic (also known as ‘Meathead’) in All in the Family during the 1970s, winning two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

He would go on to direct This is Spinal Tap, Stand By Me, The Princess Bride, and the aforementioned When Harry Met Sally.

Michele and Rob shared kids Jake, Nick and Romy together. Rob also had a daughter, Tracy, from his first marriage.

Tracy was the first of Rob’s children to break their silence following the heartbreaking incident, telling NBC News’ entertainment correspondent Chloe Melas that she is ‘in shock’.

“I came from the greatest family ever,” Tracy said. I don’t know what to say. I’m in shock.”

Common back-pain drug may be linked to higher dementia risk, large study finds

A pain medication that millions of Americans rely on for chronic back pain may come with a hidden risk: a significantly higher chance of developing dementia or other cognitive problems, according to a major new study. Compared 26,000 adults Researchers from Case Western Reserve University and several partner institutions analyzed medical records from 68 health systems across the U.S., comparing 26,414 adults prescribed gabapentin for persistent low-back pain with a matched group who had similar pain — but didn’t take the drug. Their finding was sobering: Adults who received six or more gabapentin prescriptions were 29% more likely to be diagnosed with dementia and 85% more likely to develop mild cognitive impairment (MCI) within 10 years. The risk wasn’t limited to older adults. In fact, it was younger Americans who saw the most dramatic increases. Younger adults saw shocking risk increases For people normally considered decades away from dementia: Ages 35–49 taking gabapentin ha...

More people are coming out as Aegosexual – here’s what it means

As discussions around sexuality become more layered, so does the vocabulary used to describe them. One term now drawing attention is aegosexual, an “identity-less” experience that’s defined by “disconnection.” With gender and sexuality now part of everyday conversation, it’s no surprise that a growing number of new labels are finding their way into the mainstream. Aegosexuality, part of the asexual spectrum, describes people who experience arousal or desire without wanting to engage in sexual activity. At its core, the identity centers on a disconnect between experiencing attraction and wanting to personally act on it. ‘Disconnection’ The concept was first introduced in 2012 by Canadian psychologist and sexologist Anthony Bogaert, who originally referred to it as “autochorissexualism.” Bogaert described the experience as an “identity-less sexuality,” that’s “characterized by a disconnection between their sense of self and a sexual object or target.” In practical terms, someone wh...
